Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps performance set for St.John’s
The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps from Plymouth, Michigan will be traveling throughout Virginia and will make a special stop to perform at St. John’s Church on August 7, followed by a public reenactment of the 2nd Virginia Convention.
- 5:30 Church doors open (gates will be open all day)
- 6:00 Event begins with Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps. No late admittance to church.
- 6:30 Reenactment of Second VA Convention
- 7:15 Actors ‘meet and greet’ on the yard
- 7:30 Youth corps ‘meet and greet’ on the yard
Tickets to the performance are $5 and are available here. Reservations are available for groups of ten or more for fee of $5 per person, up to 10 reserved seats.
Kona Ice will be on site with Hawaiian Shaved Ice for sale; 20% of proceeds benefit St. John’s Church Foundation.
The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps is an all youth Corps made up of students ranging in age from 11-18 from Plymouth, MI and surrounding communities. Dedicated to the ancient art of fifing, drumming and color guard, these teens practice every Monday evening year round to prepare for the Corps’ performance season. Every weekend of their summer vacation is scheduled for 40-50 performances from April through October throughout the states of Michigan, Ohio and into Canada. Near the end of the performance season, the Corps travels on a 10-day-tour to perform at historical sites.
