Poster child for rehab tax credit program

Richmond is using a great before/after of 801 North 24th Street in Union Hill to promote the city’s rehab tax credit program on posters up all over city hall.

Rather than asking citizen to go to the Assessor’s Office on the 8th Floor, couldn’t they publish the information online and include the line on the poster? Add this to the list of improvements needed for the City website.
Good call. I tried to find the appropriate page on the city website to add as a link for this and could not.
“…appropriate page on the city website…” is such a good example of wishful thinking! This makes my day. Summarizing an interesting experience a week or so ago. Emailed four city employees, addresses right off the city site. All four emails came back with, attached to the usual “undeliverable” message, the info that the richmondgov.com site kicked them out. Called the mayor’s office whose rep said that office was unaware of any problem and did I get the email addresses correct, and on and on – and then transferred my call to IT. After about a 17 minute wait spoke to a young city IT person who said, yes, the system was down and nobody knew when it would be back up. So I mentioned that no one in the mayor’s office was aware that the system was down. He said that IT had sent an email to that office. I said, but if the system is down how will they get the email…why don’t you call. And he said it’s not their policy to call. So I again phoned the mayor’s office and told the same person that the system was down but that IT had sent them an email notifying them…and she wailed, “Why send us an email we won’t get? Why didn’t they call us?”
