Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) neighborhoods will soon become much brighter. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $3 million to 13 public housing authorities nationwide acknowledging security needs which will help combat crime and drug-related activities. RRHA’s grant is for $250,000.
“RRHA is thrilled and pleased to receive this grant from HUD,” RRHA CEO Adrienne Goolsby said. “Safety in our neighborhoods has always been and will continue to be a top priority. The grant money awarded will undoubtedly help this cause.”
The funds will be used to install lighting systems in Whitcomb, Creighton, Gilpin, Mosby and Hillside Courts to improve monitoring and security measures.
