Missing this dog?
11/02/2014 6:46 PM by John M
Seen last night down by Millie’s and this afternoon at Libby Hill.
Still around Libby Hill this morning, wouldn’t let me get close to check out tags for numbers to call. Hope we can get him home!
He’s down around CVS, travelling up and down Main St. He’s noticeably limping but I couldn’t see any injury. Bought dog food for him in CVS but couldn’t get him in my car. He ate cautiously. No tags, just the blue collar and a caribiner.
Saw him at the gas station this morning around 8:30, he was limping and headed to the tire place at 25th and Main. Poor baby 🙁
Should we try to get the city to pick him up so he can be seen by a vet? Seems like he’s suffering from these accounts.
I saw him around CVS at 7am, but couldn’t stop at the time. I’d like to help him.
I’m in if you all want to team up. I would use a slow approach – start leaving food and water for him at the same place and time 2X a day. Maybe he would start to trust. It will also help to keep him in one spot and not out in the street or roaming as much. I have some contacts at AC and could ask them for help. Poor guy.
Hey Kathleen — I think it’s a great idea to use your contacts at Animal Control to help with this.
Will do. I will make the call this afternoon.
I spoke with Charles at AC yesterday. I’ve been working with him on another dog situation so I am talking to him a few times a week. Charles said we should call the non emergency police number the next time we see him. The on call AC officer will come out and try to catch him. 🙁
Any news on this pup? Anymore sightings?
I spoke to Charles at AC again yesterday and mentioned this situation. He said they do have a humane trap large enough for a dog. I’ve never seen this dog myself but I am willing to help coordinate with AC, if putting out the trap is a possible – or only – solution.
I’ve gone back several times to look for him in the area he was roaming, and haven’t seen him again. He isn’t a big dog (not as big as he looks in the photo) and may still be young. He would make such a sweet pet once socialized…he’s just scared and hurt.
