Hill and Holler at Libby Hill

Charlottesville’s Hill and Holler took over a corner of Libby Hill yesterday afternoon for their first-ever event in Richmond.

Hill & Holler is a self-described “roving farm dinner event company bringing farmers, chefs, winemakers, and the community together with the goal of enjoying a farm crafted dinner while raising funds for local food and agricultural organizations.” While their events are usually held on the farms and vineyards around Charlottesville, they have featured Richmond talent quite often.

This particular evening of food and cider was part of Virginia Cider Week and a fundraiser for Enrichmond. The tasting started off with a custom cider cocktail from Dutch & Co.’s Michelle Peake, and featured pairing dishes and cider from Heritage, The Roosevelt, Southbound, Dutch & Co., Metzger Bar and Butchery, Comfort, Blue Bee Cider, Albemarle Ciderworks, Corcoran Vineyards, Potter’s Craft Cider, and Foggy Ridge Cider.

Sounds were provided by Fear of Music, the RVA-based Talking Heads tribute band, who seemed to be much appreciated by dancers on the porch next door.

Kelly at Austen Hill has a great set of photos, check’em out!
