Strong local showing for 2015 Elbys

Local favorites Dutch & Co., The Roosevelt, Metzger Bar and Butchery, and Sub Rosa are 2015 Elbys awards nominees, Richmond Magazine’s annual recognition of “excellence in the Richmond region’s restaurant community”.

The Roosevelt has both been nominated for “Restaurant of the Year”, along with Heritage, Peter Chang China Café, and Stella’s. The Roosevelt has also been nominated for “Cocktail Program”, with Heritage, The Rogue Gentlemen, and Saison.

Lee Gregory of The Roosevelt is up for “Chef of the Year”, as are Dylan Fultineer of Rappahannock, Walter Bundy of Lemaire, and Joe Sparrata of Heritage.

Metzger Bar and Butchery is up for “Best New Restaurant”, as are L’Opossum, Lucy’s Restaurant, and The Rogue Gentlemen.

Brittanny Anderson of Metzger Bar and Butchery and Mike Braune of Secco Wine Bar and The Roosevelt are both up for “Rising Culinary Star”, along with Aaron Hoskins of The Rogue Gentlemen and DeAndre Wilson of Rappahannock.

Kirby Baltzegar of Dutch & Co. has been nominated for “Employee of the Year”, with Dare Jearman of Pasture, Dave Martin of Perly’s, and Michael Verner of Heritage.

Evrim Dogu of Sub Rosa Bakery is on the short list an an “Innovator”, with Travis Croxton of Rappahannock, Owen Lane of The Magpie, and Travis Milton of Comfort.

The awards ceremony for the Richmond’s restaurant scene will be Sunday, January 25, in the Cheek Theater at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, with a “Studio 54” themed after-party in the Marble Hall.
