Looks like the contractor came and took all his stuff back. Even the roof.
I saw a dude pulling this building apart piece by piece. He was loading all the materials up in his truck. He was taking a lot of siding also. You can actually see in the newer picture the older brick composite siding under the yellow vinyl…
I was wondering why they didnt just demo this building…?
This project was issued a stop work order by the city. Apparently the developer, Margaret Fruend ‘accidentally’ submitted different drawings to different agencies. The drawings submitted to the historic review board indicated that this home would be converted into two apartments as part of the project whereas the permit drawings indicated that the home to be demolished. She has made a pattern of submitting different drawings to different agencies and then following up with a lawsuit or the threat of a lawsuit if they attempt to stop her.
Goshness, that escalated quickly. It doesn’t even look like the same house.
Thea, you got that right…council itself approved the plans to do just that.
wow, my old apt
At first I thought this was another before/after where John got the labels flipped. This is a bizarre attempt at preservation. Somehow I suspect the developer is still planning to use this gutted shell to apply for tax credits?
I’m to understand the house will be incorporated into the new construction. It looks like they are just going to sure up the façade and roof. I don’t know what commenter James is talking about with submitting different plans to different agencies. Plans are always submitted in multiple, but exact sets and disseminated to the appropriate departments.
Uhm this place was getting plowed yesterday and today. I’m sure it will be gone by tomorrow…
@4 spot on. I don’t know about previously submitted things, but in this case that’s what happened.
#13 somehow (either by design or luck for the submitter) plans submitted to one dept. were not forwarded to another agency.
