Are there spots in the neighborhood that need trash cans?

Imagine that you have a direct line to the Richmond trash can gods. Where in the neighborhood do we need trash cans?
- The bus stop near Marshall and 31st Street (above)

TAGGED: question
The bus stop on 21st just past the Marshall intersection.
N 29th Street and Leigh Street, outside of Chocolates by Kelly/Urban Set Bride. There used to be one and then it was broken, removed & never replaced!
There used to be a trash can at this location.
As evidenced in the picture, the bus stop in the 3100 block of e Marshall. Also need trash cans along broad street at Chimborazo park.
Along the lines of Tyler’s thought, half a block from any of the markets. We’re constantly picking up trash and half-eaten meals along Fairmount from the store just off Fairmount on 22nd. Basically, time how long it takes to eat a bag of chips while walking, and plop a trashcan where the trash would fall.
Seconding what KFO said— On 21st and Main, in front of that architecture place…
Second Heather & KFO’s suggestions. Another trash can in the 500 or 600 blocks of 30th Street might help the heavy litter situation on these blocks.
The Bill Robinson Park near N. 35th. St. There is a trash can at the baseball field but not the basketball courts which get the most use and generate the most trash. I also agree with PTG and Tyler re: can placement near markets.
Somewhere between Franklin and Marshall on 27th…unless folks who enjoy using my garbage can would like to start chipping in on my bill from the city! ????
Let’s start at having a trash can at each and every bus stop. It’s so commonsensical that it should be mandated by the City. (Is this too much to ask for…it is Christmas, eh?)
On the other hand, getting folks to actually use the trash cans may be the tricky part….
The playing field at Montrose Park. There used to be one by the softball diamond & horseshoe puts but it’s gone.
Maybe the post office needs a 2nd can, or a more regular pickup?
It is not a good sign when I can name the location pictured by recognizing the bags of trash/garbage hanging from a fence. Thanks for this post.
I agree with G’s last point. I’m wondering how much of this is having a trash can and how much is using a trash can? There’s places in the neighborhood with trash cans that still seem to have a fair bit of trash.
I second Bill Robinson Park. It would definitely decrease the litter.
@18 John, post office needs a second can – AND a more regular pickup. Matter of fact, the cans that need to be placed at ALL the bus stops will need to be emptied regularly.
