Missing this dog?
01/11/2015 2:47 PM by John M
From Kim:
This dog was found this morning at the 2700 block of E Broad. It appears to be injured. Animal control was called but the dog hasn’t been picked up yet. It is currently laying on the porch of 2712 E Broad.
I’ve seen this dog out before on 33rd and he/she was clearly malnourished and possibly mistreated. The owner’s relative came and took the dog as I was about to call animal control. Hope for a better outcome this time.
Did it get picked up yet? This is terrible! Can’t anyone bring it in?! I have three dogs- one of which does not like other dogs- so I can’t keep him , but please update on status! I hope he had been given water and food!
People should not own dogs that can’t care for them. Idiots.
Sorry I thought I posted this a few hours ago! The dog got picked up at around 3:45 by a very sweet RVACC officer. She brought the poor puppy to the emergency clinic in Carytown. I would imagine he will be taken to the shelter as soon as he is healthy enough. I’ll try to call tomorrow to find out how he’s doing/where he is.
I’m so glad he went to the ER. Midday he was sleeping on another porch in the 2700 block & when the occupants opened the front door, he partially fell down the stairs. Looks like he may have had a broken front paw. By the time I got downstairs he was gone.
Kimberly please keep us posted. Poor dog….hope he’s okay. Thanks for the update so far. Appreciate it.
Thanks so much for updating! I hope the sweet guy is feeling better in care now!
I called the animal hospital in Carytown today and they said they could not give me information about an animal that had been surrendered to Animal Control. I will call RVACC tomorrow, as they aren’t open today.
Thanks, Kimberly. I’m still thinking of him. Keep us updated, thanks.
I went by the animal shelter (the one on Chamberlayne) this afternoon and the lovely dog is there in the nursery, with a cast on her paw! Apparently she is EXTREMELY sweet and a most-beloved new member of the shelter. They tell me she will be up for adoption once she is healed. If you are interested in adopting her, please call RACC at 646.5573. The dog’s ID number is #43745. Thanks everyone!
Kimberly, thank you SO much for the update. I take it this is a girl dog, too, I hope she goes to a loving family. If they love her at the shelter, then there must be a good family out there who can show her a forever home.
Thanks for the update. It sounds like her life on the street is over; I’m so happy for her.
Know anyone that wants a dog!?!? 😉
