East End Cemetery Clean-Up Project

Sat Feb 7 !12:00 pm
Join us at East End Cemetery, a historic but largely abandoned African-American graveyard on the northeast outskirts of Church Hill, to help clear brush and identify long forgotten grave markers. We will work for 2-3 hours and take a guided tour of the cemetery.

To reach the cemetery (50 Evergreen Rd.), take Oakwood Ave until it dead ends into East Richmond Rd. and make a right turn on to Richmond Rd. Take the first left on Stony Run Pkwy and follow for ~1/4 mi, then make a right turn at the “Four Cemeteries at Evergreen” sign (just before the bridge over I-64).

Please visit the Project website at https://eastendcemetery.wordpress.com/ or follow John Shuck, Volunteer Coordinator, on Twitter @findagraver for updates or additional information on how you can help
