02/17/2015 7:24 AM by John M
From Sector 111’s Lt.Sayles:
On Feb 12th at approximately 3:20 pm Richmond Police units responded to the 1500 block of North 28th Street. It was determined that the victim was walking to her vehicle and got into her car when an unknown black male suspect in his 30’s wearing a gray hoodie got in the passenger seat of her vehicle. The female not knowing the male got out and as she did the suspect attempted to grab her arm. The suspect fled on foot while the victim got assistance and called police. Units circulated the area however the suspect was not located.
Suspect:
Black Male
30 – 40 YOA
Gray Hoodie
Tan or Grayish Pants
White Shoes
Black Gloves
Sounds like her instincts and reflexes were good. She moved quickly to distance herself from the guy.
I’ve found streets can be virtually deserted at times and can make you vulnerable. I highly recommend personal alarms and of course, locking your doors immediately upon entering your car.
Someone said it was like the head person of the hospital? Wonder if that is true?
@ Emily/Eric – yes and no. Clearly the look/feel/vibe/message that creeps like this dude get from the neighborhood is that this is an area where they can get away with this kind of stuff in broad daylight. There are lots of places where this guy undoubtedly knows/fears he would be caught. It’s very likely that the condition of the neighborhood ( gentrification, indirectly) is exactly what he was thinking about. Then again, he may have just been taking advantage of the fact that the people around him were distracted by the weather…
I live a block from there and there was a lot of police Thursday there during the day. Like 3 or so.
My girlfriend works there and said it was one of the executives of Bon Secours and they installing new cameras and lights n stuff. She said lots of people are afraid to work there cus of thefts and crime. She said years back some guy attacked a nurse a while back with a big knife and her face all up…. Crazzzzy stuff round this place!
