Missing this momma dog?
Found a very thin momma pit mix wandering alongside the train tracks last night at Jennie Scher Rd. around 7:30. It didn’t seem like a very safe place for a dog to walk alone, so my wife picked her up. We fed her and went back to where she was found, hoping she would take us to her puppies. After about two hours of walking and asking everybody we saw if she looked familiar, we gave up. I took her to the vet near my work this morning and they scanned for a chip and didn’t find one. Took her by Dr. Jack’s just hoping they recognized her and they did not. Took her back to where she was found this afternoon and walked that area again, around the cemetery, and even the train tracks all the way to Masonic Ln.
I don’t want to say that she was abandoned, but I’m sure it is a possibility. If anybody knows this sweet poop machine, please let me know!
I’m no expert on this but she’s still nursing — or thinks she is — right?! So sorry for her and so thankful that you all have taken this on. Seems like she would have taken you to her babies for sure if she were anywhere near them. I hate thinking the worst of people, but it’s hard to not in this situation. Thank you again for showing such kindness to her. Please keep us posted.
This is so sad and dogs have feelings and emotions. I know she is heartbroken over her pups and I am sure the poor babies are probably lost by now if they were nursing. Why do people abuse Pit Bulls?
im pretty sure that is the dog I saw jan 1, while mountain biking on the trails in that area. At the time she was shy and anxious not to meet any 2-wheeled folks. I’ve always wondered about her. I’m no dog expert, but from a distance it looked as if she might’ve been nursing the pups already.
