Sub Rosa hosting pizza and music benefit for Jay Moritz

Friend and neighbor Jay Moritz is fighting cancer. A fund-raising page set up by a friend of Jay’s explains that “despite maintaining an image of success, hair-moguls Jay and Elizabeth Moritz, like many Americans, cannot alone shoulder the burden of exorbitant medical bills that have come to sit atop their stress heap. These cruel bills persist despite Jay’s charmingness and sick bass playing.”

The GoFundMe page quickly bypassed the initial fundraising goal, which will allow Jay to clear all of his current medical debt. That’s fortunate, as he’s about to start another stretch of treatments/surgeries.

To help out in their own way, Sub Rosa will be hosting a pizza and music benefit for Jay on Sunday, May 3, at 7PM:

PIZZA 2000 AND SUB ROSA BAKERY team up in a WOOD FIRED PIZZA DUEL to live musical performances by JOSH SMALL, BIG NO, and others. A night of awesome food and fun to support our friend and neighbor Jay Moritz. Jay is fighting cancer, and we want to raise as much money as possible to help defray the exorbitant medical bills.
