CAR to consider eight new homes, mixed-use project on 24th Street

The agenda for the Tuesday, June 23, 2015 meeting of the Commission of Architectural Review includes a number of local projects:
- 2815 E. Grace Street – Replace stainless steel roof on the front elevation with a copper roof
- 2707 E. Broad Street – Install new window in existing opening of carriage house
- 605 N. 21st Street – Replacement of windows and construction of new shed
- 2807 E. Grace Street – Infill 2nd floor window and install two new windows in existing openings
- 2401 E. Marshall Street / 313 N. 24th Street – Construct a new mixed use building and an addition to an existing structure
- 713 N. 24th Street – Repair porch, replace doors, windows, siding
- 2912 E. Leigh Street – Construct a new storage shed
- 322 N. 36th Street – Construct a single family home
- 1902-1908 Princess Anne Avenue – Construct four attached single-family houses
- 2302 E. Grace Street – Installation of walkways and brick walls at the front and rear of the property

Re: 313 N 24th St. Are you serious with this sh*t??? Half a block from one of the most significant historic sites in the city and THIS is what you come up with? Flat brick and terrible expanses of corrugated metal siding? What a joke. I know high school students who could do better. Sorry to drop the hammer, and I’m sure it will be shut down by CAR anyway, but even as a developer, you have got to have higher standards than that. Awfully, shamefully bad.
