UPDATE 5:27PM
From Lt.Sayles:
On July 15th 2015 at 0310 I, Unit 111 was flagged down at 22nd and Jefferson Street for a possible robbery that had occurred at 0255 in the B800 of N. 22nd Street.
The victim stated that he was walking to the methadone clinic the same as he has done since October of last year, when this morning he saw two men run toward him, they were black males, wearing face coverings, black t-shirts, and dark jeans colored shorts. One of the men had a “very long rusty looking shotgun.” The men forced him to the ground, demanding that he didn`t move, as well as going into his pockets and taking $15 dollars in cash and another 5$ in change, his cell phone a keyocera hydro was also taken, which was about $150.00. The case is still under investigation and detectives are asking anyone that may have witnessed this crime or others contact the police.
SUSPECT INFORMATION:
Two B/M’s, 20-30 yoa, armed with possibly a shotgun or long gun of sorts. Last seen possibly getting into a blue or rust colored Nissan Maxima.
Any further info on this would be appreciated. Please share.
The immediate vicinity of that intersection sticks out as a strange hot spot compared to the surrounding blocks. What is going on? Back in October a man came to my porch saying he was robbed at the exact same spot. There have been at least two other instances.
Bus station nearby, maybe?
Little confused. The “red pin” on the map above does not match the victims description that the robbery *actually* occurred on the 800 block of N. 22nd St.
And “walking to the methadone clinic…” @ 2:55a.m.? Is it a 24hr clinic? Had to ask…
For clarification:
800 N 22nd St

Good catch . The original report was 22nd and Jefferson
The methadone clinic opens very early. 4 am, I think.
And people going into meth clinics are well known for having lots of money?
Isnt this the stupid robbing the poor?
I changed the headline and image for the post. The original report on nbc12 had the robbery at 22nd and Jefferson.
Why is the methadone clinic at all relevant? As seen in the responses elicited so far, it distracts from the point of the message to inform the community and ask for anyone with information to come forward… nevermind that it serves to present the victim as more of an outsider (walking to the clinic, recovering addict) than a community member and evoke questions of credibility.
Thanks John Boy.
“The victim stated that he was walking to the methadone clinic…” so I guess that’s why it’s relevant.
