Blackbird Salon coming to 25th Street this fall
08/03/2015 8:10 PM by John M
Cathy Roller, owner of Blackbird Salon, confirmed last week that she will be opening a second location in the under renovation building at 402 North 25th Street (just up from the East End Theater). She is aiming to open sometime between October and the end of the year.
Blackbird Salon has been open on Lombardy since 2010, and has grown from a one-woman shop to a stable of 6 stylists. The shop offers haircuts for men, women, and children, and a variety of other styling services.
The city lists the property at 402 North 25th Street as being built in 1940, with the last Certificate of Occupancy dating back to 1974 (for a church).

Blackbird is THE best! When Autumn (my stylist there) told me this news I am pretty sure heaven came to earth…dream come true!
How is the business doing?
Just an FYI… this was the temporary bank building for American National Bank while the larger one next door (attached to it) was under construction. 402 was opened September 15, 1922 while the larger bank on the corner (now Deliverance church) opened November 17, 1923.
