Unless I’m misremembering, that’s ahead of schedule.

CITY COMPLETES SEVERAL DOWNTOWN MAJOR TRANSPORTATION and BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
RICHMOND, Va. – Motorists can expect smoother traffic flow next week in the area of the 5th Street and the 7th Street bridges over Leigh Street. The rehabilitated 5th Street Bridge will open Monday morning. The 7th Street Bridge re-opened in June. Both bridges were closed earlier this year when the $3.6 million dollar refurbishment began. The Leigh Street corridor between 5th and 7th streets, which closed during construction, also re-opens on Monday.
No go. Just drove by there at 1pm–still looks like it did last week.
Workers were diverted to the Bottom to fix the upside down flags.
They can’t move a few barricades because they hung the flags upside down?! And they expect these bike races to come off smoothly? Meanwhile I’m still trying to get someone at the city to pay attention to the six foot high weeds along 23rd St. where the cobbles are, since they plan to have the bikes go up that….. very scenic ride that will make…
It is not just moving a few barricades. They still have construction storage units, toilets and heavy machinery to move.
@20 Thanks EDS but was there any sign they were working on any of that today?
Just got word it should be open by Friday.
Leigh Street is open.
@23 Yay great news, thanks EDS!
Hooray!!!
Hold up, apparently it’s open westbound but they still have some work to do for the east bound (hope I got that correct). Should be totally open by Friday, though.
