Can you share to support Library Card Sign-Up Month?
08/28/2015 7:56 AM by John M
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month and the East End Community Collaboration (EECC) needs your help in supporting the East End Library.
The library’s goal is to get 300 new library card sign-ups at the East End Branch in September, which would be more than double last year’s number.
To help encourage folks, EECC will be holding weekly drawings through September with prizes for lucky winners. Anyone who gets a new library card or replaces a lost library card will be eligible for the drawing.
Want to help? One way to support the effort is to donate towards the drawing prizes. Do you have any unused gift certificates? Any other ideas?
Contact Rick Tatnall at rick@replenishrichmond.com for more information.
Thanks for supporting the library! Don’t forget, the library is offering free replacement cards during the month of September for library card sign-up month. We are also accepting food donations for FeedMore in exchange for waiving up to $10.00 in overdue fines. Please come and visit us at 1200 North 25th Street!
To all East Enders – Please support your newly renovated East End Library and the Richmond Library System by getting a library card in September. Everyone who signs up at the East End Library (1200 N. 25th Street, near the new traffic circle) in September is eligible for prize drawings to be held each Tuesday evening to highlight the library’s new Tuesday evening hours – open until 8pm. On Tuesday Sept 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th we will randomly draw entries for prizes from all the September Library Card sign-ups and replacement cards. On Tuesday October 6th we will have a Grand Prize Drawing. Prizes currently include books, t-shirts, posters and some miscellaneous prizes.
We ask that East Enders, especially our local retail and restaurants, consider making a donation to the list of prizes. If you have something to share, please contact me or Tara Franzetti (tara.franzetti@richmondgov.com) at the East End Library. We will do all we can to promote your support of this effort.
What’s Cooler than Being Cool? – Please support your local library and help us get to 300 new library card sign-ups for the East End Library in September.
As a last incentive to sign up for a Library Card at the East End Branch during the September Library card promotion, the Boathouse Restaurant has kindly donated a $50 gift Card for the prize raffle. Everyone who signs up for a library card by the end of Wednesday September 30th will be eligible for this gift card, as well as the Will Daniel’s book “My Virginia Rivers” and other prizes like t-shirts, CD’s and books.
