Can you assist the Willingham family?

A fundraising effort has been launched to help the Willingham family in their time of need:

On Sunday, August 23rd, Rashamella Willingham was murdered, along with another young man, in Bill Robinson Park in Church Hill.

Rashamella, or Rah Rah, was a former CHAT student and had grown into a beautiful, fierce, and loving woman who was known to so many in the Church HIll community for her loyalty, her strength, and most of all, for her incredible committment to her son, RaJul, a rising kindergarten student at Chimborazo Elementary School.

Rah Rah and her mother have lived on 35th street for over 15 years and are loved by the community. Rashamella’s mother, Elberta Willingham, is continuing to care for RaJul but the family is in need of financial support during this time.

Losing Rashamella meant not only losing a mother and a daughter but also entering into a complex and expensive period as the family works to re-establish child care and negotiate job changes so that as much can be kept stable for RaJul as possible.

They presently need help with utilities and morgage payments as they lost work time in coping with the immediate aftermath of Rashamella’s death. Please consider surrounding this sweet family and supporting them!
