Loving movie will be shot in the area in October and November

Word from Union Hill that the Richard and Mildred Loving movie will be doing some filming in the area in a bit:
“In October and early November we will be filming numerous scenes in your neighborhood. As this is a period film, we will be asking for your cooperation in removing contemporary cars, porch furniture, etc. from the outside of your home. We have a few scenes taking place on the street so we will, on occasion, be doing a re-route of traffic; Richmond Police will be on hand to ensure safety.”

My grandfather’s 1965 Chevy pick-up is being used in the movie! They’ll be filming in our area tomorrow, Oct. 12. I don’t have all the details yet, but have been told they’ll be at Cedar St. Baptist as well as on E. Franklin and on E. Main. Will update if I get more details.
So this seems to have started!
They filmed at 2201 E. Franklin and in the closed area at 1500 E. Franklin today. Not sure if/when they’ll be back to film in the area…more info to come. Mildred and Richard Loving were quiet, strong people and their story is both shocking and awe-inspiring. Everyday heroes who loved and fought for one another, their family and their home…Virginia.
PS- they have been filming for some time now in various spots in VA, including last week in Bowling Green where the Lovings were jailed.
They’ll be filming in Church Hill over the next week!
