Springers tear Wildcats a new one

In a game originally set to be Armstrong’s homecoming later this week but played today at Highland Springs due to school being closed on Friday, the Highland Springs Springers did terrible, terrible things to the Wildcats in a 71-0 ass whoopin’ this evening.

According to the VHSL Reference site, this is the most lopsided loss for Armstrong since at least 1999. The Wildcats lost 63-0 to Lee-Davis in 2001, and 69-0 to Henrico in 1999.

The 2-2 Wildcats have 10 days to stew on this one before taking to the road again for 10/2 7:00PM game at Lee-Davis (3-0). Armstrong won’t play their first true home game of the season until 10/16 when they’ll host Patrick Henry.
