Michael Paul Williams has a great story on Richmond.com this morning about the community support for Raheim Watson, a budding entrepreneur injured in a car accident a few weeks ago:

An online drive to help Raheim Watson meet his expenses had raised $19,873 from 127 donors by Friday evening, said Sarah Mullens, co-founder and executive director of UnBoundRVA, which invests in people from low-income communities and connects them with resources, training and support to become entrepreneurs. The amount raised is just $127 short of the goal.

A half-dozen individuals and businesses have come forward to take over the contracts of Watson’s business (Facebook) while he recovers. Meanwhile, HourWise reached out to coordinate support of independent contractors and volunteers to keep the contracts for Raheim’s business going, Mullens said.

Also, an anonymous donor has paid six months of the mortgage on a Habitat for Humanity home that Watson; his pregnant fiancée, Erica Lowery; and their 6-year-old son, Raheim Jr., had moved into in Church Hill.
