Sector 111 leads city in crime reduction in most recent quarter
From the Sector 111 Lt.Jeremy Sayles:
I have attached the crime numbers for Sector 111 for the 3rd quarter of 2015. Sector 111 won the 3rd quarter for crime reduction out of all 12 sectors within the city. This is something the officers and detectives as well as citizens should be very proud of. During the 3rd quarter Sector 111 violent crime is down 13% while property crime is down a whopping 21%. This success is a result of the great partnership between the residents and officers.
Violent crime is down 13%, as there were 26 violent crimes in the sector during the quarter compared to 30 in the same quarter last year. Four fewer aggravated assaults using a fire arm (from 7 to 3), 2 more homicides (0 to 2), 1 fewer rape (from 1 to 0), 4 fewer robbery of individuals (12 to 4).
Sector 111 encompasses Church Hill, Chimborazo, Church Hill North, Fulton, Oakwood, and Union Hill
This is really nice to see. Well done all around.
Has anyone ever seen a comparison as to how Sector 111 compares against, say, the Fan both in terms of incidents and per capita crime?
Ned Oliver put together a great comparison map at the end o 2013. From our analysis at the time:
“At 3.9 incidents per 100 residents, Church Hill compares very well to The Fan (5.9), Windsor Farms (3.8), Carillon (5.2), Museum District (3.2), and Bellevue (4.6).”
