Church Hill Walking Tour

Church Hill is the oldest neighborhood in Richmond. You will meander through streets lined with beautiful late 18th and 19th century architecture; see St. John’s Episcopal Church where Patrick Henry proclaimed “Give me liberty, or give me death!” in 1775; and view stunning vistas of the City of Richmond. You will also hear about the eccentric cast of characters who make up the fabric of Colonial, Federal, and antebellum Richmond.
The tour lasts approximately 1.5 – 2 hours. It meets in front of St. Johns Church on 25th& Broad St. No need to reserve a spot, just show up!
$20/adults; $15/Seniors/Students; $5 for teens (12-17);$0 for kids

Octoberfest Block Party at Metzger

Join us at Metzger for an epic Oktoberfest block party! We’ll be pouring Fest-biers and Marzens from Hofstetten, Paulaner, and Hacker-Schorr to name a few and cooking up sausages, schnitzels, pretzels, and kraut. Sub Rosa will be joining us to sell some incredible German breads and Marty Key of Steady Sounds will be spinning tunes! Try your hand at Stein Hoisting or just hang out in your Lederhosen and enjoy the party! Admission is free, food and beverage tickets are $5 each. We will sell tickets and special edition Metzger Oktoberfest T-shirts at the door or you can buy tickets early on eventbrite and get a free t-shirt!

Preservation Celebration – We Raised the Roof

At St.John’s Church / Join us for a casual party and open house to thank our donors, supporters and neighbors. Free and open to the public. The church will be open and The Oak Lane Band will perform in the graveyard. Food trucks will be parked on 24th street. Graveyard scavenger hunt for kids. Bring a blanket and enjoy a beautiful day at the church and celebrate our new roof!

Discover Cohousing

Future residents of five cohousing neighborhoods, located throughout Virginia, are sponsoring a public presentation on the growing cohousing trend taking root across the region and the country. We will discuss the common characteristics of cohousing, often called “old-fashioned neighborhoods of the future”, and explore what makes each community unique.
This free two-hour event will take place at Art Works (320 Hull St.) in Richmond. Come learn about this new approach to create vibrant and sustainable neighborhoods and discover how you can become involved. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided.
