Hands on at Chimborazo Elementary (and across the city)

10/18/2015 8:25 AM by

Yesterday was the annual HandsOn Greater Richmond Day, with volunteers across region putting in something close to 5,000 volunteer hours in one day. More than 30 people turned up at Chimborazo Elementary (including a great contingent from VCU’s National Association of Black Accountants) to help weed the garden and flower beds, clean the school’s Storm Water Rain Gardens, sweep the playground, and just generally clean-up. Another group of volunteers came out to Armstrong HS to help paint a new Senior Café.

Check out #HandsOnDay on Instagram or on Twitter to see some of the projects from around the city.
