In three different day parts, I watched cars going north on Jefferson go left/clockwise on the circle to get up 21st or 22nd. Talk about behavior change/learning curve-circle.
When you are coming around Jefferson Park and traveling the odd angled section of 21st that cuts by Alamo and over to Clay Street, what they have put there… is that supposed to be a circle? It doesn’t make sense and you basically have to make a right hand turn and then again around that circle (not a smooth transition) where as the leading edge of it is a narrow opening in front of you with traffic coming the opposite direction. Confusing and very poorly designed. Not quite sure how buses and trucks are supposed to negotiate that heading east down Clay Street?
I really love the roundabouts, especially now that they have some plantings in them. It gives Jefferson Avenue a great green urban vibe. It seems that the new traffic patterns have slowed traffic quite a bit. It may take a while to adjust to the change, but it is worth it.
its the pit of despair!
