Missing this dog?

Today I was running with a friend and we found a puppy that had a collar on with no owner and no tags. We called animal control and they came and rescued her. Since she had a collar on they will keep her for 10 days for the owner to pick up and then would be put up for adoption. We were with her for quite a while and she was very sweet and loving.
TAGGED: pets
Beautiful pup!
Hi Tara! Thanks for rescuing the sweet pup! was just wondering if you had posted on Craigslist too? sometimes people look there as well as on FB at Lost & Found Dogs – Virginia. I am the person who stopped and spoke to you at Bark Park.
Thx Tara….Please DO NOT post on Craiglist….too many dogs mistreated by people w/bad intentions on Craiglist….Thank you for saving this beautiful soul….
Definitely don’t list on Craigslist. That is where they buy dogs for fighting and since she is a Pit mix, will end up that way. We would take her if no one adopts. She looks sweet and scared.
This puppy is at animal control, if anyone is interested in adopting her they should let animal control know so that if her owners don’t claim her, she can be adopted after her 10 day hold. One can post a dog that has been found on craigslist but one does not give all identifiers away. One can post without giving away gender, if the dog had a collar one, don’t say what kind and don’t post a picture of it. If someone claims the dog is theirs they would have to tell you gender, collar and any other identifiers that you did not show. Ask for pictures of dog with owner and for vet records. There are ways to help reunite animals in a safer way. If you find a dog or cat and keep them at home, always let animal controls know- contact Richmond, and Henrico at minimum, so that if someone calls looking for their pet, they can be reunited.
Get your pet microchipped, and give them love.
Anyone know if this dog has been claimed or adopted?
I was just at Richmond Animal Control this afternoon and met this dog (who is going by Gracie). She is about 35 pounds and full of affection–and she is now up for adoption!
