Marshall Street then and now

The Virginia Film Commission has a location library of shots from around the region, including some neighborhood photos from what appears to be the early 1990s. We’ve pulled a few then&now comparisons before, including a stunning comparison of the 3000 block of Marshall Street. Now we have this look at the 3100 block from the same time period…

Wow – thanks for posting these pictures! Keep watching because significant changes will continue to happen on this block. Urban Core will start construction on a new mixed use building on the corner of Marshall and N 32nd this spring.
Hey HEY! My house makes its CHPN debut. Sweet deal yo…
Now if only we could get some trees planted… 😉
I agree Tim! The city usually offers to plant trees in existing tree wells in the spring. Residents sponsor the trees by agreeing to keep them watered. I paid for a tree for one of my tree wells and the city donated another. Let’s see if we can get a few for this block in the spring.
Looks great, but trees would do wonders. Now is also a good time to plant a tree.
TOM, not Tim. My apologies.
