The Bicycle is a 2015 Felt

If located contact Det. C. L. Layne, First Precinct 646-0698
These types of bikes are not stolen and then sold in immediate local community. These bikes are not good for the near local area with our cobblestones and are not common commuter bikes for going to the market etc. These bikes once stolen are moved/transported and sold elsewhere or dismantled for their valuable parts and sold to a ready market. I just can’t believe the police with some investigative work can’t break that market process. How many more road bikes valued (a $1,000 to $2000.00) will have to be stolen before somebody interdicts into this lucrative thievery business.
J Johnson @1 Have you relayed your extensive knowledge of this lucrative business to the police and neighborhood crime watch?
I have tried to pass such info on to them as I have had two bikes stolen both of which were valued at over $1000.00 ea.
While such thefts are important to them, there is predisposition considering bikes, as just toys or some enthusiasts luxury item – and not a form of personal transportation. Guaranteed that If as many cars, (valued at $1,000+ were stolen on the Hill – there would be significantly more focus and attention.
Lock up your valuables. Trust no one!
