Frontier coming to old Sarafran’s spot

The renovation work at the old Sarafran’s spot is ramping up, and the Alamo trailer parked out front is good clue as to who is behind the activity. We can now put a name to one of the neighborhood’s worst kept secrets…
With Juliette Highland and Christopher Davis among today’s SEED grant winners for their new spot Frontier, their cover is blown. Rumors of a Cajun were solid, though expect also a good dose of East Texas.
Chris says that they hope to open by mid-2016.
For the love of everything that is holy, please open up that front wall with some windows!!! So excited about this business opening here!!

Yeah… finally someone who knows how to run a business BUT… here is to hoping that they knock out the brick fillers that were once windows and get rid of the prison-like façade and put it back to its original 1938 glory.

@8 The windows look like 1960s grocery store with thin metal dividers and a metal frame door? It is a Colonial Revival building and what I posted in the link above is more in line to the original design, which can be seen on old tax assessment cards.
Old post but whatever happened to this?
Almost a year later and nothing is happening.Permits were issued to building owner Dalton’s Realty LLC (registered agent: Christopher Way) but inspections failed and the permits expired this August with no new ones listed.
It was being fitted as a restaurant named Frontier and there was hints of Alamo BBQ’s involvement.
It’s coming along. I think like most projects it’s taking longer than anticipated.
