City of Richmond Department of Public Works
WHAT: Street Closure
WHEN: Midnight Saturday, December 19 thru midnight Thursday, January 7, 2016
WHERE: North 21st Street between East Broad Street and Marshall Street
BACKGROUND: The street will be closed during installation of a new crosswalk at the intersection.
TAGGED: 21st Street
Just wait until they start to finish the fancy brick crosswalk across Broad street. The traffic backup will be hilarious!
Nice. Now we need a left turn light when going north.
They can’t come close to keeping the brickwork maintained that already exists in terms of sidewalks and crosswalks.
And they are doing more than that. They dug a trench on the east (?) side of 21st and there’s a coil of orange tubing. Also looks like new storm drains have been put in? But I’m with you. It would be a joy to see the brick work on that side of the street fixed in addition to finishing the intersection work. Walking there is like an ankle-breaking game of Frogger.
@BAF – From what I’ve seen, the newer brick sidewalks are put down over a cement foundation, which should hold up better than the “just brick” kind from back in the day.
