From Lt.Sayles:
Theft from Building:
400 block of North 25th Street
Reported on 01/06/16The victim contacted police on Jan 6th at approx 12:00 to report a theft of items from a vacant property that is under renovation.
On Jan 3rd, 4th and 5th the victim noticed several hand tools and small power tools missing from the building. Initially the victim thought another worker possibly borrowed the items. After he determined other items were missing he reported the incident to the police.
Detectives responded to the address and they could not determine a point of entry and the victim could not be sure if the doors were locked. It is suspected that someone entered a rear door.
Items taken were a drill, saws, charger and battery packs, screw drivers, several socket sets and copper from a heating unit.
The victim stated that he had also paid an unknown black male to assist in moving a large kitchen appliance from the building. The victim stated he didn’t know the male and paid him a small amount of currency. It is unknown at this time if the unknown male was involved.
