Meeting with police now about a theft from a construction site on the 700 Block of Chimborazo Blvd. Seems to be a lot of this lately, wondered if you knew of any leads/outcomes on any of the other construction thefts mentioned on CHPN?
5-8 extension cords and a framing nail gun were taken.Still looking to see if anything else stolen. Building under renovation. Broke in through a boarded rear door. We believe they did this in broad daylight between 12:30 and 1:30
There is a flea market on rt. one that sells a lot of small construction equipment. It is an old drive inn. The equipment is used with some looking almost new.
Shelby Long was constantly reminding people to engrave their social security number on stuff in a place that is not immediatly recognizable. This establishes undisputed ownership in the event that stolen items are found.
If someone is not comfortable using a S.S. number, a name can be a good choice.
Engraving a social security number onto everythng you own is probably not the best idea…..
Identity fraud is probably more of a problem now-a-days than even simple theft.
Phone number or name is probably the best option.
Turns out another building on the same block was also broken into, probably on the same day and/or by the same person I’ll leave it up to John Murden to post more details if he thinks appropriate, but anyone renovating or building in this area needs to be very careful about storing anything of value onsite, even during their lunch breaks!
Jennifer, I agree with you . That is why I added using name.
