First Annual Metzger Maifest

Sat Apr 30
The First Annual Metzger Maifest is set for April 30:

Metzger is throwing a block party to celebrate the end of winter! After the success of our Oktoberfest and Christkindl Market last year we decided that we should combine these ideas into a mega market and party – hence Maifest! We’ll be pouring an assortment of German Beers (including Maibock!), selling fun German inspired snacks out of our side window (think schnitzel sammies and everything pretzels), Ruby Salts Oyster Company will be shucking their delicious bivalves, and vendors like Drift / Riot, Maven Made and BEAR CERAMICS will be slinging their gorgeous handmade wares all while jamming to some rare funk and soul tunes on Cedar Street.

Entry to this event is free and kid friendly! This event is Rain or Shine.

2nd Annual Historic Richmond Rehab Expo

Sat Apr 30 10:00 am
Do you live in a historic home? Ever wonder if you would qualify for rehabilitation tax credits? What’s the benefit of keeping your original wood windows? The Historic Richmond Rehab Expo will include over 20 experts and organizations working in the trade of renovating historic homes. Plus, you can meet with the public agencies that assist with obtaining tax incentives for renovations. Through this event, Historic Richmond hopes to connect people and resources to ensure the continued care of Richmond’s historic buildings.

The event will cover topics such as tax incentives, improving energy efficiency, plasterwork, windows, masonry, roofing, researching historic properties and more. Exhibitors will be available for questions concerning their area of expertise and their table displays will vary between information packets, demonstrations, examples of exhibitors’ work and photographs.

Coffee and biscuits will be available thanks to Lamplighter and Early Bird Biscuits. We will have a free raffle for a chance to win a Sherwin-Williams for Your Home paint kit, $100 towards an Acorn Sign Graphics sign, a custom rendering by House of Owner and a farmhouse table from Paul’s Place!

Event registration is FREE and you will be entered to win a custom rendering of your house by House of Owner. Please register at info@historicrichmond.com or call (804) 643-7407.
