Anybody have a trap to help catch kittens?
05/19/2016 7:18 PM by John M
From Jenna:
Anyone have a have-a-heart trap we can borrow? Found some kittens under our neighbors’ porch on 24th and need to get them to Animal Control so they have a chance to get adopted and don’t add to Church Hill stray population.
I have one under the left side of my porch. You are welcome to have it or return it when you are done. 406 N 33rd St
You might want to check with Church Hill Animal Hospital. Not sure if they have one, but worth a call. 804-644-8200
Thank you Eric! Good luck to Jenna.
Message me via FB if you need still need a trap.
I also have a trap you may borrow. Also, this is high kitten season. As such, there is a high probability that the kittens may be euthanized at an Animal Control facility, even if they are healthy. I am happy to share contact information for rescue groups that may be able to take them in (place them in foster homes) and get them adopted. My vet also adopts out kittens. Please feel free to call or text me. 804-399-9720
Thanks Eric! We’ve borrowed the traps and will keep everyone updated on our progress! Melissa, one of the rescues said they were too full and weren’t taking anymore kittens. But if you have any recommendations, we’ll gladly take them. We’d like to see them get adopted.
Jenna, do you know how old the kittens are (are they still weaning on the mother?). Can they be handled or are they feral? My vet might take them so let us know when you catch them. Thanks.
How old are the kittens? If they aren’t feral, I may be able to take one now. I’m looking for a kitten for my mother, whose elderly kitty passed last fall. She’s ready for a new baby.
