I hope CAR will not permit demolition of 713 N. 24th Street. The property could be (and should have been by now) fully renovated. The owners should sell or give the property to someone who can do it properly. It was purchased at tax sale several years back, and, despite promises of future renovation it has languished and become an even greater nuisance to the adjoining property owned by our dear neighbor, Sterling Hines.
I fully agree with #2. The truth of the matter is that if CAR permits the demolition of 713 N. 24th St, the net result will be the loss of Sterling’s house as well…in other words the loss of two Union Hill contributing structures. There are a number of houses in Union Hill – in fact throughout the city – to show that removing half of a double house doesn’t work.

Ann, what happened here with 713 N. 24th Street? Where did the strong community support for demolition come from? Did Mr. Cooley weigh in?
Matt, too long for this. Check your mail.
