From the release:
Three Parks Walk for Peace: July 22, 2016 from 5:30-7:00
Our national Montessori family has been touched by the same confusion, fear and violence that has overwhelmed so many people in America lately.
Our Montessori community may be uniquely situated to speak to the issue of Peace.
Philando Castile was a fellow Montessorian and spent more than 10 years in the service of children. Dr. Montessori, herself, was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize. Her work helped develop the belief that education, specifically, education of young children, was the pathway to Peace in the world. Dr. Montessori worked tirelessly as an activist and advocate for equality in many arenas.
So let us speak-and walk- for Peace!
The Neighborhood Resource Center is partnering with Central Montessori School to organize 3 Parks Walk for Peace to offer hope and encouragement to all who have felt the chaos and pain of loss. This event is designed to be free from political speech and focused only on the task of encouraging, sharing and reminding ourselves that there is a pathway to Peace and we know how to walk upon it. We need only to begin the first step.
This event will be July 22nd, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00.
