Mark your calendars for some slow journalism. The next two weeks of Virginia Currents Radio (7/21 and 7/28) airs on 88.9 FM at a slightly different time, 8:50 am and 5:50 pm to make room for expanded stories about the 1970 Fulton Urban Renewal Plan.
An even more expanded, 20 minute Part 1 will be posted online.
I’ve been working on this story since January, it’s complex and devastating. But at the heart of it is also love, dedication and commitment.
For those unfamiliar, this part of Richmond’s history saw an entire neighborhood – with thousands of residents – completely demolished. Here’s a few archival photos showing what it used to be like.

John M, I heard the last part of this today and would love to hear the entire thing again. Any clue how to do so now? Also when and where the expanded 20 minutes Part 1 will be posted online? Thanks, as always, for all you do.
