Ocean Grocery for Joe Morrissey

Shame
He came in the small business I work for today and got uppity about me not giving him the owner’s personal phone number to ask if he could put up a sign. I politely told him we were here as employees so the owner doesn’t have to be and we could relay the message. “OHH HE’S TOO IMPORTANT TO TAKE A PERSONAL CALL HUH… WHO ELSE CAN I SPEAK TO” and got my manager, who told him the same thing. Didn’t win any votes here.
You might want to do a google search on Morrissey, Emily Klinedinst
He has a rap sheet from the early 90s that include almost killing a handyman working on a house of he woned, sucker punching a prominent defense attorney just outside the courtroom when he was Richmond Commonweath’s Attorney, being disbarred from the Virginia State Bar, and being kicked out of jobs he had in Australia and Ireland after they found out he lied about his sleazy background.
@Ray, so you’re agreeing that he would be an improvement over Dwight Jones!

Say what you want about his “personal” baggage. But there is no doubt that Morrissey was a “kick-ass” Commonwealth Attorney (pardon the pun) and an excellent Delegate – he is simply the best qualified person for RVA mayor. Look up and down that ballot…it is plain to see.
Just ask yourself, which of those candidates would actually “fight” for you, the constituent? I just don’t see Mosby, Stoney, Baliles, Berry going to the mat for ME…but Joe would – check his record in public office. (This is all that I am referencing – his track record as an elected official.)
No one is perfect…and the best candidate doesn’t always win. But he’ll get my vote.
Wow! No comment from “Neighbor”? I’m amazed.
So here’s my take and attempt at background.
1) I tend to think that these political signs are off limits for CAR and probably even the Planning Commission and other city regulatory bodies. Deal with it. Get your own.
2) There is this inexplicable connection among certain of the corner store operators, their patrons, Joe Morrissey, and the Temple of Judah. For instance:

Also, Joe also had one his Senate campaign announcements on the steps of the Temple of Judah a year or two back with his now-wife, Myrna and a cadre of other folks.
Finally, when the corner store operators, like Ocean Grocery, were under attack from the neighborhood for shady alcohol sales and hours of operation, the parishioners of Temple of Judah turned out for them at the ABC hearing and specifically referenced their connection to ToJ and approval of the corner stores.
Y’all piece it together, because it’s beyond me.
