Richmond among top 5 fastest growing “traditional cities”
12/15/2016 10:53 PM by John M
From Robert Steuteville at the Congress for the New Urbanism:
Traditional American cities like Seattle, New Orleans, New York City, and Philadelphia are growing this decade at a rate that they haven’t seen since the 1940s, according to a Public Square analysis. The 25 largest traditional cities gained 3.8 percent in population in the first half of this decade, from 2010 to 2015, according to US Census Bureau estimates.

The five fastest-growing traditional cities are New Orleans, Seattle, Washington DC, Boston, and Richmond VA.
New Orleans lost over half it’s population (~254K) in one big swoop after Katrina. It is still in the process of a natural correction.
Impressive list for Richmond to be on. They are hanging with the heavyweights.
Great article, thanks for the link! Nice to see an outsider confirm what we see close up everyday!
And unlike some of the cities on there no one is living in closets.
