Rotary Club of Church Hill helps fund new movie screen for Robinson Theater
Rotary Club of Church Hill is proud to announce it has received a grant to benefit the Robinson Theater Community Arts Center (RTCAC). The $2.400 grant will be used to replace and install a new movie screen.
The check was presented to Betsy Hart, Executive Director of the RTCAC, by Jim Bynum, Rotary District 7600 representative and Penny Guiles, Rotary Club of Church Hill’s President. Several Board members of each organization were also present.
The Robinson Theater Community Arts Center is a multi-purpose facility that exists to inspire, enable, and restore healthy community life to the residents of North Church Hill primarily through it arts-based programs.
The Rotary Club of Church Hill is a member of Rotary International, a global network of community volunteers. Rotary members are business, professional, and community leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Meetings are on Monday evenings at Patrick Henry’s Pub at 2300 East Broad Street. Happy Half Hour starts at 6:00 PM, meeting at 6:30 PM.

This old movie theater was restored and opened just less than 8 years ago. What am I missing here since movie screens don’t go bad that quickly?
We are so grateful for this generous contribution to help keep the quality of the facility and programs high for our community! Clarification for Mr. Huffstutler: the building was renovated by the 2903 Q St. LLC, a separate entity from the Robinson Theater Community Arts Center non-profit that runs out of the facility. The non-profit was very grassroots when we started in 2009 with very limited resources. We were blessed by a donated and used pull-down screen at the time that has been great. It has reached it’s “pull-down” limit and barely rolls back up at this point. Due to increased use of the facility, we are ecstatic to have received this grant to keep the quality of the facility high and more opportunities to use for movies and other events.
