Can you help get these Franklin Military students to Richmond, England?
Five Franklin Military Academy cadets, representatives from the James River Park System, and members of the Eastern Chickahominy Indian Tribe are going to Richmond, England later this month. While there they will be visiting Pocahontas’ burial site on 400th anniversary of her death.
Can you help donate to make this possible? →
The total fundraising objective for Franklin’s “Pocahontas History Project” is $50,000.
We need HALF of that for our upcoming trip THIS March! The other half will go towards future legacy projects. Go to ReplenishRichmond.com/Pocahontas-history-project/ and click “Payment” to help us out!
For tax deductible donations, go to Enrichmond.org/partner/friends-of-Richmond-trails/ and include the comment “Richmond Trails / Pocahontas”
If you can donate $25, you’ll be gifted a free ticket to a picnic party at Libby Hill for Richmond Day in May. For $100, you’ll receive 2 tickets and a 22″x30″ 1940 print of the Richmond skyline. For $500, you’ll receive 10 tickets, 2 posters, and other customized thank you gifts.

Thank you for the post John. If folks want to learn more and meet the delegation members going to England we are having a Press Conference this Saturday at 2pm at Libby Hill Park. One of our goals with this trip is to strengthen the twinning relationship between Richmond VA and our namesake Richmond upon Thames, so we thought it only fitting to have the Press Conference at the View that named our community Richmond. The Franklin Military Students will be in uniform at the Press Conference, the same they will wear when they comprise the Guard of Honor for the Duke Of Gloucester, a member of the Royal Family, at a Pocahontas commemoration event at Syon House during our trip to England.
