Chef Jessica Wilson hoping to bring GRACE to Chimborazo
Chef Jessica Wilson has been in and out of Richmond over the past month in the process of buying the building at Marshall and Chimborazo. If all goes well, we’ll get to follow along as she renovates the bottom space back into a restaurant, moves into the apartment above, and plants a heck of a garden next door.
Her dream is to open GRACE, a neighborhood garden-to-table restaurant with an emphasis on fresh, sustainable, local, and affordable. The greenspace of the double lot will be a seasonal garden, providing for the restaurant and a morning community market.
Wilson’s two-decade career has taken her from Vermont to Florida to Massachusetts, and on to success in the East Village and Brooklyn in New York. Her resume includes time at Prune and A Voce, and most recently turns as executive chef at Goat Town and the Michelin-recommended Dear Bushwick.
omg
OMG YESSS how awesome is this
Damn so Gary sold it? Good for him
please please !!
Yes please!!!!!
Sounds awesome!! As a very close neighbor, I welcome Ms. Wilson and this concept to the area with open arms. And before anyone complains about parking…I have no problem giving up space to park directly in front of my house (which in this area is the norm).
Welcome, Jessica!!
YAY!
Good fresh produce!
DAve, I so agree! I live in very close proximity to Dutch & Co. I don’t always have a place close by to park but I love it!! Makes me happy when they are packed!!!
As a newcomer to Chimborazo, and also a very close neighbor, I’m looking forward to this!
That’s exciting! Can’t wait to eat there. Welcome to the neighborhood.
Yes!! Do that!
Cant wait to be neighbors!
young lady sure does have her work cut out for her with this building… hope she knows what shes getting into
Welcome to the neighborhood Jessica!
Amazing one of the best female chefs from nyc in Chimborazo, this is going to be the best restaurant within 30 miles.
This is a brilliant plan! I would support it.
YAY!!!!! Down the block from meeee!
I hope she can put some windows in it
I love Prune, and Dear Bushwick! That is great to hear that she’s coming here!!
I feel like I’m living a dream! Just 2 years ago, I couldn’t leave my house without being accosted by panhandlers. Five years ago, drugs were actively sold across the street from my house. The good news just keeps on coming!! Welcome Jessica!!
For those curious about what happened to this plan,I passed a couple guys moving out of this building over the weekend and they said the new owner was turning it into a restaurant so it looks like GRACE is going ahead!
