Recognize this dog?

My friend came across a dog on the corner of Stony Run and Government Road. It seems that it was just left there because it had a bag of food and a bowl of water next to it. She said every time a car would drive by, its ears would perk up as if it was waiting for someone. I think it’s now with Richmond Animal Care and Control, but I thought maybe the residents of Church Hill and Union Hill might want to know just in case anyone might be interested in helping it out.

WTF
He is with RACC now. Very sweet boy
No, it was not a “very sweet boy.” I stopped to help as I always try to help the constant stream of strays in this area. The dog crouched and bared teeth and started moving slowly towards me then lunged. I got back in the car and called RACC. The other woman that stopped said “Oh, he’s just scared.” No. I’ve worked with animals for pretty much my entire adult life. A scared animal may growl and bare teeth, but it doesn’t make eye contact and move forward. This dog was seriously aggressive.
I wasn’t there, however, I don’t think you should judge the temperament of an animal that’s just been abandoned on the side of the road by the people he trusted. It’s an awful horrible sad situation so let’s give him a break and hope that with some care and kindness he’s able to find trust and know love.
@Kathleen, well stated!
