From the Friends of Jefferson Park:

Dear Friend and Neighbor,

You are invited!

As a follow-up to the discussion of Jefferson Park at the Union Hill Civic Association meeting on September 13, the Friends of Jefferson Park will hold two gatherings to address concerns at the Park.

The first event is a Walkthrough of the Park from 8:30 to 9:30am on Saturday, October 7th. We will examine existing facilities, signage, amenities and landscapes. We will take notes on our observations, and develop a check-list of items recommended to improve the Park.

The next event will be a strategic planning session from 6-8pm on Wednesday October 18th at Richmond Story House (2109 M Street). The purpose of the meeting will be to identify the challenges that face the park, and develop recommended strategies to address the challenges.

The outcome from these two meetings will be the development of a plan of action for Jefferson Park that addresses issues such as safety, maintenance and community involvement.

Following the meeting, the FOJP will draft letters to the Police, Public Works and the Parks Departments, as well as to Councilperson Newbille, regarding Jefferson Park.

Thank you for your interest in Jefferson Park.

Please RSVP by return email.
