Student essays honored in “Two Sides of a One Track Mind”

Student essays from a summer workshop at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School and VCU have been compiled in a book, Two Sides of a One Track Mind.
The summer writing workshop, a project of David Coogan and Councilwoman Delores L. McQuinn will eventually be housed at the in-progress East End Teen Center.
Two of the students, both current ninth graders at Armstrong High School, have seen there work published in the Times-Dispatch, including last August’s publication of Shebony Carrington’s essay and now Diontey McDonald’s The Real Me: From My Name To My Future.
