mini crimewave on the 700 blocks of 23rd and 24th Streets
03/22/2006 9:10 PM by John M
We’ve gotten an unofficial report of a mini crimewave on the 700 blocks of 23rd and 24th Streets. One residence had their shed broken into twice in 24 hours on March 9/10, the house directly behind that was broken into a couple of days after later, and a neighbor two doors down was broken into yesterday. You are reminded to lock your deadbolts, or get’em if you don’t have’em.
This sounds little like the stuff that was happening a few blocks north about 6 weeks ago. This also seems like a good time to plug the 1st Precinct Crime Map & Info Page. The info is always a few days behind, but it helps to be aware of trends on the blocks around you.
TAGGED: crime
As the victim of one of the breaking & enterings on the 700 block of North 23rd, I would advise all our neighbors to be extra diligent in securing entryways not visible from the street – like basement doors under stoops and doors behind lattice. My b&e took place between 9 a.m. and noon, so those of you home around that time, keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
And keep an eye out for someone carrying a bunch of my stuff.
…on that note, if anyone sees a guy selling our chainsaw and wratchet set that was stolen from our house (via an overlooked transem window left unlocked), we’d be happy to pay 20 bucks…it’s at least worth that to get them back…..sheesh!
