want to adopt a new tree?

06/26/2007 10:30 PM by

In a timely follow-up to a recent question: The Church Hill Planters are currently seeking residents who would be willing to adopt a new tree in front of their house or on their block. The trees will be planted during the 2007 Fall planting season, so now’s the time to put in your request!

Just How Excited Can You Get About Trees?

Just ask Alli Alligood on the 2700 Block of East Broad! She can wax enthusiastically about the tulip poplar in front of her house. The Church Hill Planters would like to encourage others in Church Hill to develop a similar enthusiasm. We are currently seeking residents who would be willing to adopt a new tree in front of their house or on their block. The trees will be planted during the 2007 Fall planting season, so now’s the time to put in your request.

Adoption is easy!

  • To begin, you need a stump-free tree well (and we can help make that happen.)
  • We will then evaluate overhead wires and surrounding trees to determine the ability of a tree to thrive in your location.
  • And finally, we’ll have arborist input to determine the appropriate species for your spot.
  • So if adoption is for you, please contact Alli Alligood by phone at 804.782.1170, or Aimee Perron Seibert by e-mail, apseibert@gmail.com by August 15th. Thank you!
