Towards a Union Hill Old and Historic District
The UHCA Committee to Explore the Possibility of a Union Hill Old and Historic District met on last night at Church Hill Photography.
Following introductions and a review of the purpose of the committee, Laura Daab shared her experience and advice as the leader of the Church Hill North Old and Historic designation process. Elaine Odell then shared her research on Design Overlay Districts. The committee then reviewed various brochures, publications and other materials related to Old and Historic Districts (9.4MB PDF). The committee then asked questions and discussed the potential for a Union Hill Old and Historic District, reaching the decision to move forward with the process.
The next meeting of the Committee to Explore the Possibility of a Union Hill Old and Historic District will be held on Thursday, August 16th at 7pm at Church Hill Photography.ÂÂ

The Committee will provide recommendations at the UHCA meeting at their July 30th Meeting, 7pm at Que Pasa. A special thanks to Laura Daab for sharing her experience with the group and Elaine Odell for hosting the meeting.
Please join us on Thursday evening May 8th – 7:15pm at 2020 Princess Anne Avenue to take in the final presentation by the VCU Urban Planning Class and to further discuss the potential of designating Union Hill as a City Old and Historic District. Neighborhood participation is welcome.
