ACORN: Uncovering the History of Your House
01/21/2008 2:00 PM by John M
ACORN, in partnership with the Library of Virginia, will present Uncovering the History of Your House, a Seminar in Researching the History of Homes on Saturday January 26th, from 9AM to 12:30PM at the Library of Virginia (800 E. Broad Street).
Who lived in your house when it was built? Who built it? What was on the site before it was built? These are some of the questions you will learn how to answer by attending this seminar. You will find some information about your particular house style & era. Additionally, you will find out where to look and what to look for to piece together the puzzle of your historic property.
Admission: FREE for A.C.O.R.N. members ~ General Admission $15. RSVP to 804-422-2148 or info@richmondneighborhoods.org
Unfortunately, this coming Saturday I will be picking up dead limbs at Libby Hill Park. Please, ACORN, plan for another “Uncovering the History of Your House.”
If I don’t have to dress up… I’ll go. I hate dress shirts and ties…
I’ll be there, all grubby as hell.
Can you take notes for the rest of us who can’t make it? A follow-up article would be of tremendous value to everyone.
Gracias!
